Default Different engine swap

I know that alot of us FSC guys are swapping out the 5.3 and 4.8L motors for an LS1 5.7L and have great results. I was wondering would an LT4 motor swap be faster than the LS1? The LT1 can be found a whole lot cheaper than an LS1 and has great potential. I was thinking of getting a hold of a plane LT1 and comepletely overhauling it and turn it into an LT4, because from what I understand and LT4 will out run a LS1 stock to stock right? I've herd that the LT4 has great high end power.

It wouldn't be any easier (probably alot harder due to different computers and wiring systems) but it certainly would be unique.....hell, if your gonna go that far find an LT5 out of a ZR1 and swap that in......you'd have the the ONLY quad-cam NBS Chevrolet pickup truck on the planet !!

**** on LT1's I just pulled a LT1 from my old work truck to put in a 5.3 and there is no comparison. The LS1 type motor is smoother, more efficient and don't have the opticrap to worry about. I have owned 3 LT1 vehicles and driven/worked on a bunch of them and IMO there is no comparison. I have said it b4 and I will say it again-the engineers back in 1955 should have invented the LS1 instead of the SBC.

you're kidding right? you're talking about two completely different motors, there is onlyl like 2 things the same between them. you would have to completely change out your computer and probably motor mounts and tranny also.

forget the lt1, swap in a 6.0 and a mild stall and you will be freeking happy, they are really cheap too and effortless to swap in.

Anyone running a supercharged 5.7L LS1 in their truck. What times are they running or could it run, 11's? I'm really thinking about doing this later on if I can convence my parents I know what I'm doing and I don't f#$# up my truck. If I start earning enough $$$ this summer my plans are huge. Maybe a magnuson supercharged LS1 with heads cam package, converter, built tranny slicks, etc...... I want the baddest beast I can fit under the hood. But for now the onlything holding me back is $$$$$ and the parents.
