Default Differences in exhaust between 1999-2002 and 2003-2007 silverado

So I found a Magnaflow catback exhaust pn#15778 priced relatively cheap. The problem is I have a 2001 silverado ECSB and on the listing and everywhere else the catback is listed specifically for 2003-2007 silverado ECSB. Would the catback fit my truck perfect, will it need modification, or is it just not going to work.

Thanks in advance.

i think that where it bolts to the y pipe is different. How much did you find it for if you dont mind me asking. i was looking into the same catback but other things came up more important and i just ordered a muffler. The cheapest i found was $445 shipped.

I would get it and if all else fails you could sell it or take it to a muffler shop or if you or a friend can weld then weld your factory flnge in place of the one on the magnaflow if it is in fact different.

Your 2001 ECSB has a crossmember that the 15778 will not go around.

The factory exhaust had a bend in it that goes over the top to get around the crossmember. Some cat-backs go over it, and others go under it. Mine goes under it. I'll see if I can find a pic.

The kit you asked about will run straight into this crossmember. I've already tried.

I need this kit minus the muffler, I have a corsa I want to install. Anybody know where I need to look or have a part number? I'm not having much luck
