because I didnt have as much pressure as I would like. I had already put in the heavy oil before I cut open the filter to see if that would fix it.

No I havent pulled the cover yet.

Lack of pressure is because of a lack of restriction. Did it never have good oil pressure or did it start out good and gradually get lower?

It quite a bit more often than you think, not saying thats what happened here since he was using a quality converter. Since Ive been on this site I can think of 2 or 3 that have had this happen to them, seems to be most prevalent with the stock converter or modified stock converters. If you have that much play per PI's instructions youre suppose to shim the converter anyway. 3/16 is a lot when you consider the dogs on the converter that engage the pump are only cut maybe 5/16ths deep.

Yes, pressure was fine when I first ran the engine and gradually got worse.

I took the valve cover off this morning and the rockers and springs look brand new (as they should) and didnt see any sort of material in there.

....also discovered my AC belt is shredded, good thing its already cooled off here

haha, pretty much

Im already doing better than last time, tc bolts came off without a problem, although the flexplate felt weird while rotating it to get to all of the bolts....
