daily driver
#1
Have a silverado w/ 5.3l and want to keep it a daily driver but gain respect at the track or just be able to talk it up with my ford buddies that have lightnings and mustangs. anyone have a list of what the best performance mods are to accomplish this. i already have a vortech s/c, hedders, flowmasters, programmer, injectors, k&n filter and 3.73's. give me some help on setting these ford guys straight on who runs this!

well get rid of the flowmaster, and programmer change muffler to an imco or edlebrock, magnaflow, etc. and get a nelsonperfromance tune that should hook you right up. Do you have a posi in the rear to hookup with at the track? And is your truck an ecsb or rcsb truck?

honestly, for simplicity... I would say the 6.0L swap, a mild cam, better tune. All that in conjunction with what you have (better mufflers of course) will have you demanding respect from fords all day long. Just the 6.0L , headers and tune in my EC put me at a 14.1 ..........think of the possibilities in a RCSB 6.0L thats blown.
Even then, in all honesty, you could ditch the blower and get a 6.0L setup with a stall and be very impressed.....but if you already have a blower

what times are you runnin now, what sort of headers do you have, I would start by getting a pulley and long tubes if your running shorties. Drop that programmer and buy HP tuners I wish I had done that to start with that will make a huge difference in itself you cant take advantage of your mods without the ability to tune for them. then throw on a shift kit and at least 2500 stall. If your still not happy slap on some P/P ls6 heads and cam. If your a reg cab you should be able to start killing lightnings with ease after that. If you still want more throw on some nitrous or upgrade to intercooler
