Default cut outs

not sure if this was the right place to post this but i couldnt find an exhaust section.
i know unless u r pushing big power cut outs r going to actually make u loose low end power but i want them just to be loud and annoying. when i did my headers i drove around 2 days with open headers and i loved it. so i want to get some electric cut outs. i have a few questions and wanted to see what u all think.

which ones to go with?
where can i find them for a good price?
pros/cons?

thanks

Actually, I dont make much power with my 4.8 and I usually gain 2/10s at the track with it open. I run SLP loudmouth I's, so there is no restriction there, but I always gain at least 1/10 but usually 2/10s at the track. I have QTP, but everyone says they suck. I havent had a problem with mine. There are better brands out there, but I cant remember them at the moment.

in my experience the DHM have been real good and there not real high either. dougs makes a really nice one but you have to up some money for it though. close to $500 IIRC.

I have a raceready performance I got from craigslist, and I love it. dhm looks just like the one I have for cheaper. I paid 150 for mine new in the box. no y pipe. dhm has everything for 199 I think. I gained about 1-2 tenths also. plus it makes a cammed truck sound even better. stay away from qtp!!! I had one and it leaked when closed. sounded like crap.

Everyone says that about QTP, but I have had mine on about a year with no problems. And I hold the switch way to long to make sure its closed or open fully, which they say is the main cause of them to start leaking. :nunchuk1:Quess I am just lucky with mine.

The first time my QTP cutout broke:

I found it literally dangling under my truck. I then spent an hour at home depot trying to find some screws to put it back together with threadlocker.

The second time:

No wonder it was leaking so bad.

After that I went with a DMH unit, and it has been great. After 6 months it started leaking and I sent it back, and it was replaced with a new unit for free. Havent had a problem since and that was over a year ago. I use it fairly often too.

As far as performance. I gained 3hp and 1tq with it open on a dyno (yesterday, actually), but I do have a very free flowing exhaust as it is.
