Default Custom Gas Tank

I'm wanting to put a custom gas tank in my 02 Silverado for a little extra mileage between fillups but mainly for side exhaust. So, I crawled under it the other day and got some measurements and came up with a rough design for a tank.

The only thing I have to do for this to fit like a glove is to cut the spare tire holder out which is no problem. Has anybody done anything like this? I'm thinking about having one made but I'm not sure about what all needs to be done for it to work properly. I want to use the stock sensor for the stock gauges and it's gonna need to be baffled. Anybody have any information or ideas to help me out?

Might want to give Nate at Nasty Performance a call, he deals with a lot of custom fuel setups on the fbodies. I've dealt with him many times, great guy and he'll make time to talk about and explain everything he can.

He's a sponsor over on ls1tech

What about hanging a Big ole' Fuel cell where the Spare Tire would go? Would put more weight at the rear of truck for more traction...

What I want is a little more than a pre-made fuel cell can offer. I'd like the sender/pump unit to drop in and work fine. I'd also like it to be filled in the stock location.

Would be easy on my Avalanche, the fuel filler is all the way at the rear of the truck on the Driver side Fender...

As for the pump/sender why not just get a matching set up for the fuel cell??? I would think it would be cheaper then thrying to build a custom tank(s)... :-\

I need to know how to attatch my stock pump and sender unit to a new cell. I've got a guy that will build the cell to my exact specs but I don't know how to go about this. There is a cell built for my truck but it's not built for what I'm going for. Here are some pictures of it.
