Default cruise control problem

Hey guys I have a 3500 Silverado with a duramax and a allison tranny. 24,000 miles and my cruise control started to act up. I'll be driving along and it just shuts off. I hit resume and it comes back on. I took it to the dealer and they could not find anything wrong with it. They said they unplugged all connections for the cruise and plugged them back in thinking it may be a loose connection.

I got the truck back and I took a 3,000 mile trip with the truck. All was OK for about 500 miles and it shut down. It shut down 7 more times in the next 1,000 miles. On the way home it shut down 5 times within 1 mile and 3 more times in the final 1000 miles.

I have an another appointment for monday but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what the problem might be.

Thanks a bunch.

Tom

Is the brake fluid level good? If the PCM recieves a brake signal it will shut the cruise off (just like tapping the brake)

HMM I never thought of brake fluid. I'll check that. You would think they would have tried the the first time around. There were no codes either.

Could ber the brake switch. What do you mean by the plug N ?

well. my problem pertains to cruise, but the subject is entirely different.
55-65mph i get a surge every now and then. it will vary 2-300 rpms for about 10 seconds.
does it about every other day.
6.0 4l80e....
damn GM..... they can only get some things right.
hehe.

Well they replaced the brake switch. Drove 700 miles and it shut off twice. It goes back in tomorrow and they said they are going to moniter the voltage on the wheel sensors? I'll keep you updated.
