It's been a while, but I used a 3 prong puller and adjusted the prongs to go inside the pulley.I hope you aren't going to reuse the pulley with a broken lip.

I've seen it done usually on the inside rung of the pulley

Mine had 3 flat spots on the inside of the pulley just for the puller. get a light behind the pulley when installing.

On top of the placement of the puller on the inside slots made for the puller, put a socket on the center threaded peice of the puller to get a better hold. I used a can of the computer cleaner compressed air in a can $hit. I turned the can upside down so the liquid would come out rather than the air. if you freeze the crank pretty good it comes off easier. I know that it sounds a bit whacky but i think it will shrink the crank a thousanth or two which can make it a bit easier. it took me and a few friends 45 minutes to get the bitch off and most of it was trying to figure out how to place it. if i were you i would start looking for a new pulley because it is your damper which does balance your motor. if you are missing pieces you might throw off the balance. just a thought.

Thats a good idea with the freezing. A friend of mine showed me a similar trick for putting the pulley back on... Use a torch on the pulley center for about 2 minutes and it'll slip right into place. No pushing, no banging, no problems

Coming off is easy. on the heating it up with a propane torch to install. Just put a little grease on the snout to help out.

Use the Chrysler model 3 jaw harmonic balancer puller on the INSIDE tabs ( closest to the crank snout ). Works perfectly on the stock pulley.
You can "rent" them for free at Autozone or Checker with a security deposit.
