4.8--->6.0 swap???'s
i have searched and searched on this for a long time and haven't found this specific question so here it is. When doing the swap does the engine that is to be put in, have to be the same year as the engine you are taking out? and if not can you downgrade from , say a 2004 to a 2001? I have found a lq9 and 4l80e for $1800 and am looking to drop it in ASAP. Also I am looking to go with forged internals(planning ahead...for the FI)what are some good kits to get.Any input will be appreciated.

No problems on the engine swaps, regardless of size, as long as it is a GenIII motor ( 4.8, 5.3, 5.7, or 6.0 combo ). The 4L80E will require some mods to the crossmember if you are coming from a 4L60. There are a few folks who make conversion kits on here.
