Default Crank Pulley/Balancer bolt

So I just noticed that the crank pulley doesnt line up to the power steering pump pulley, and then I saw that the actual shaft the pulley sits on is not seated all the way, and I can see in between the o-ring gasket, and the shaft.

What would the best way to go about fixing this? I have to go buy the balancer bolt anyway. Would I be able to get the bolt and then just tighten it down so that it moves all the way back? Or what?

just tighten it until the balcner is where it supposed to be, just make sure nothing is stopping it from being pressed all the way on.

Take it off and heat up the balancer with a torch for about a minute and slide it on as far as it goes and torque the hell outa the bolt. With the heat it should bottom out right away.

Well I juts realized that the actual crank bolt wont even start to thread so Im gonna have to pull the entire pulley off anyway. What a damn drag. i really wanted to avoid that only because of how hard it was gonna be to put it on.

DO NOT try to install it without heating or using a special long bolt. If you do it cold with the regular bolt, it will not go on far enough and you can easily strip the threads out of the crank! We put ours in the oven at 250* to 275* for 30 minutes. After heating, place the pulley on the shaft and put a 2X4 accross it. Give the 2X4 a couple of good whacks to drive the pulley as far as it will go.Then put a new bolt in and tighten it QUICKLY (best done with an impact) before the shaft absorbs the heat, and she slides right on.

Just use the proper balancer install tool.

J41665 is the tool number.
