Default Cowl Induction = lower IAT's??

Anyone have any experience with this. Looking for ways to lower underhood temps and hopefully IAT's. R/

IAT's will only be lowered if the air entering the engine is cooler....a cowl hood really doesn't affect this

when chevy high perf. put a cowl hood on the SS blown silverado, they reported a 5 degree temp drop on under hood temps. i guess every little bit helps.

I've seen more than 5 degrees on my engine. In the summer, the cowl makes a biggggggg difference in SE GA at least.

I didn't use it....I just painted the underside of the hood and put it on. No insulator here. With the cowl, I can see a lot of hot fumes coming up through it. I probably had closer to 15 degrees drop of underhood temps or more. Helps my intake stay cooler as well.

yeah, i got mine painted and clear coted too, and i though it would help heat to escape better without the insulation, also the stamped GM logo under side is cool too!

If you make the cowl induction hood functional it should lower IAT's. Any kind of hood scoop that is not functional is in my opinion.
