Default Couple Questions for the Gurus!!

There's a few things I want to change in my Sierra.

The first thing is the Cam. What's the benefit of the LS6 Cam over stock? Is there any performance difference?

Next is my alternator. Still running the stock one but I think it's about time for a new one. Recommendations?

Lastly, I'm looking to put in a 160 degree thermostat. Brand recommendations? I'm also told you have to adjust the computer for the auto-on and auto-off temp. settings?

Thanks guys!

Most everyone on here will tell you to use the SEARCH function as ALL these topics have been covered numerous times...but i will do my best...
-IMO the LS6 cam is good for 1) turbo setups and 2) if its really cheap or free...And of course there is a performance diference 295hp motor vs a 405 hp motor..c'mon now...why would anyone do it if there were no gains...bolts gaskets, springs will be at least $200 up to $600.
Get a 212/530 112 for a mild 5.3 cam...point being there are much better cams...read up
-Dont need a new alt unless your breaks or running non orig elec fans or huge system...etc...at that point get a oem 145 amp from junkyard...
-On the t-stat any brand that our sponsors >>> carry is fine...I have a TSP one and it works great...No need to re-tune on/off but it would be better, just not necasary(sp?)
