Default Corvette Servo Installation

Ok, I've had my truck on ramps for the last hour and a half and as far as I've gotten is removing the heat sheld. How in the heck do you remove the servo cover? I'm about to pay someone to do it!!!

Yeah, I looked at that site before I attemped anything. The cats are in the way so it makes it very difficult to use anything to pry the cover off. I used a screwdriver and even that is almost too large to use. It sounds like it'll take some force to pry it loose. A screwdrive just isn't going to cut it!

I use a large prybar and push against the floor. The ring comes out with a little coaxing. Then its easiest to cut the o-ring that seals the cover. Usually they'll sell you a o-ring with the servo. When you put it back in make sure it doesn't twist.
It is also recomended that when changing the servo to make sure the drive shaft still moves freely after installation. Put it all together without the seal. It has something to do with the band being too tight

The speed shop in town charged me $70 parts and labor to do the install. Hey for $70 I have it done and someone to blame if it goes wrong.

Before you give up try this. Here is what you do. You see how the hole it is in is round and there are 2 slots in the edge of this hole. Take a small flat head screw driver, and put it as far back into the slot of the hole and push it to remove the retaining ring. There is a ring around the inside holding the cap on and you must wedge the screwdriver tip in the remove this ring. If you already have the retaining ring out and the cover is still stuck in, you should be able to do the same thing to pry it out. With the rubber seals, it is kind of vacuum sealed.
