Well here is goes! Doing here at home in the garage.

GM part# 8642079

Hopefully it goes well, I hate trans work!

It's easier to get that snap ring that holds the cover on and off with a second set of hands. The first set pushes the cover in, and the 2nd set takes the snap ring off.

It's easy, just take ur time.

Are you just gonna install the servo?? Do you have a shift kit in it?

Get 'er done! Also...thanks for posting the part #'s, I'm gonna do this real soon too! Have fun on your back, I know I will!

edit: I just ran those part #'s at gmpartsdirect.com, and the 8642079 is the 2nd gear servo kit for the vette, but its the same thing for the silvy too. WTF? Also what exactly is the 8673039, it just says "housing". Sorry to ***** off your post, but it seems you know what you're doing. Also whats the cheapest place to get these, my local stealership is going to rape me.

Well, got it done! 1-2 shift is much nicer

Truck goes to the Body shop tomorrow for the roll pan and front bumper.

**** I have no idea what I am doing, I just work here

Seriously....The part numbers I got came from GM........Is it the same part number for the silvy too? There is a BIG differance in the two side by side.

Thanks man, I'll check it out. I don't know why they listed the same part #, I could be crazy. I don't trust that website anyway.
