Default Considering a Silverado SS - What's available?

I know all the internal engine stuff is applicable, but what is available in the way of bolt-ons such as headers and such?

If I get an SS, I want it to have some *****, because I won't have a car to race for a while.

Pretty much everything that's available for the other LS1-based truck engines.

It's definitely not as big as the car world, but we get by...

Well I can do my own engine stuff, but headers and a cat-back would be nice also. I assume LS1 Edit is compatible as well? Thanks Marc

Yup, Edit is out there, but it's not ready for the in-car programming in the '03's or '04's just yet. We have to buy a cable that allows you to program the PCM on the bench.

There's a good amount of stuff out there for exhaust - TOG (The Other Guys), ASM (Arizona Speed and Marine), and Thorley all make a set of good headers. JBA does a good set of shorties that bolt right up. The others require cutting and welding.

There are only a few cat-back's for the SS's available right now, and they all seem to be up around $700-800.

There are a good amount of air-intakes... UPD seems to be the most popular - some have dyno'd it around 20rwhp.

I'd be interested in hearing what you have planned for the internals for the motor - I'm looking for a H/C setup for the spring, but I'm not sure what numbers to look for, for good all around driveability in a 5300lb truck.

Thanks guys. I may be able to get a really good deal on a truck if my car ever sells. I think a good performing truck give me the best of both worlds, utility and fun. And it can tow stuff!

Anyone done headers with a fabbed up true dual system yet? Do the trucks come with single or dual CATs from the factory?

SWEET! So you can get headers and use the factory cats for a true dual setup?

Also, if you want some good information got to ls1truck.com and talk to farmtruc, he runs the site, he has worked on a lot of SS. Plus some guys there that have SS's that can give you some pointers.
