Default Complete new exhaust ideas

Ok, to start things off ive got a 2000 silverado 5.3 ecsb, 105,000 miles. Current mods are AEM CAI, TRT custom tune, Port and polished TB, summit cutout, flowmaster 40.

I'm looking to get a pair of pacesetter LT's and ORY after i get my tax return back. And right now ive got a summit cutout, then a flowmaster 40 si/so with a Y split to dual tips in back.

I know flowmasters suck, and im going to rip that sucker out of there ASAP.

but what i need help with is what pipe diameter should I go with for the complete system, what muffler/mufflers I should go with, and where it should exit from. *** also, i have the cutout, so loudness isnt too much of an issue, im really looking for a good flowing muffler.***

my ideas for
Muffler:
1. Imco extreme
2. Dynomax bullet
3. Magnaflow
4. Spintech

Pipe Diameter
1. 2.5"
2. 3"

Exit
1. Rear duals strait (what i already have)
2. Rear dual side exit (both tips at same angle)
3. Rear duals 45 degree angle out
4. Before rear tire

any other suggestions would be appreciated

With your posted options, I'd say 4, 1 (dual) or 2 (single), 4.

And really, unless you're planning on swapping in a cam or going forced induction or some such, you're likely better off going with 2.25" pipes if you go with a dual set-up as it well increase the gas velocity at a lower rpm. In turn, you'll have better response in the lower rpm range where you drive on a day to day basis.

Dual 2.25" has a slightly higher cross-sectional area (2 x 3.976"^2 = 7.95"^2) than a 3" single (7.068"^2), meaning 2.5" dual (2 x 4.90"^2 = 9.80"^2) is really way too much for most trucks on here. But I guess its not as manly to say 2.25" dual as opposed to 2.5" dual.

i'm a big fan of the 3" single into a dynamax bullet or a spintech, turned down before the axle, well, headers, y pipe, put the bullet just after the trans area, then turndown shortly thereafter, great sound to me.

my problem is, is that i hate drone.. with my current set up with the lts ory,4 ft of stock exhaust into a stupid 50 series crapmaster into crush bent exhaust going out to the rear at a 45* angle. i want to get rid of the stock part and just have the shop run me a straight 3 inch with a big *** magnaflow.. i havent looked into spintech? ill check them out. I just dont want any drone i have little to none right now unless i really get on it.

if i was u i would go with a single 3 inch set up similar to mine.. but if u really want duals and plan on keeping it all motor 2.25 is enough.. with a decent size cam 2.5 wont be a bad choice.

within the year I am hoping to save up for a nice sized cam (was thinking about the ls6 cam, but now im thinking bigger with a stall). But first I'm getting the headers and ORY.

How much of a difference does having mandrel bent tubes make instead of crush bent. Because ive seen that on my crush bent, it gets pretty thin in some spots.

I am thinking that single 3" sounds good, but I already have two nice 22x3" slash cut tips, so maybe 3" to a si/do muffler, with the pipes ran to the same side with both tips close together, like this.

except with slash cut tips, and not angled down.

I've heard from a couple sources that if you're dealing with crush bent pipe, its better to go with the next size up pipe for the bent areas as the crush will shrink it down substantially. YMMV...
