Been running stock coils since day 1...just curious what my options are for upgrade - and is it worth it?

No. Stock coils are fine. They are good to well over 700 hp..

Ditto. Spend your hard-earned dollars on something else.

actually if you can find the round coils with the heat sinks they seem to be the coils of choice lately. Also LS7/ls2 ones are next in line. They tested the output and the ones with heat sinks were proven to gain a few ponies.

one guy claimed 7 rwhp from coil swap. if you have any doubts search for this title on ls1tech. its several pages and includes part numbers

Stock coils FTW!

I remember reading dyno charts showing Granatelli plug wires adding 25hp also. Whatever.

Thnx guys...I've read some threads on this too, and seems that its not worth the $500 for a few minor ponies...Better to save my cash for a 427!

If I had unlimited funds I'd buy the MSD's just because I like to waste money

first thing I'm gonna do is move the coils back on top of the valve covers (from the firewall) to shorten up the wires...prob save 2/3rds of the length! Havent done it yet cause I want to find some covers that also cover the coils...anyone know of any decent ones?
