i talked yank today, after looking at the charts i sent him he says there is some other problem, he says there is no way i can stall to 4700 and have a shift extension of 4800, the stall should be 1000+below the shift extension so my stall is more like 3600. he couldn't explain the rpms going to 4700 on that test.

we basicaly gave up, he couldn't explain it to me in a way i could understand, could be i am just a little slow i guess. anyways he said he would be happy to take some stall out of it, just send it in and tell him how many rpms to pull out. he also said it i would have to pay for the restall when i decide i want it taken back up but this one is for free. he thinks it will most likly run slower with a lower stall.

so the question is what should i have the stall brought down to. i see on one of my full runs with a 150shot my stall is around 4800 and my come back rpm is around 4900. looking at the QMP turbo kit they are seeing max tq at 4400rpm, i think i will have them pull about 1000rpms out of it. then if i add some tq hopefully i wont go over 4400rpm, anyone have any opinions on this? maybe a little more? once i build a 409 i will put a medium/sorta large cam in there and will probably push the peek tq rpm up a little more even.

I think I might even go -1300rpms just to be safe. I'll bet after the restall, you'll be slightly quicker or the same as you are now on the 150 shot with the converter unlocked.

i have always been told you have about a 600rpm window. 300 above and 300 below your ideal stall rpm. so you can be off either way and not be able to tell much difference. knock a grand off of it and you should be close.
