gen-3 hotcam
#2
I drove a 98 Camaro Z28 with one (LS1 Hot Cam Kit), it was a huge improvement. I'm not sure if its the same for the trucks. It ran a 12.7 with just the cam in the car.

i wouldnt suggest it at all, esp with the needed tq down low and idle stability for heavy trucks. they idle poorly (good and bad) but were NOT designed for the ls1. other cams are better for drivability and will make as much if not more power. if you want a mean idle with a programing nightmare, the hotcam is for your and your 5.3 auto combo.
