I spun mine to 6k with the stock valve springs. I now turn it to 6500 with no problems. The lifters typically float at around 6800 from what I have read. Maybe a little less with stock springs.

If the motor is stock .. I'd put your shift points at 5800 1-2 and 5700 for the 2-3.

If you've done some other things stock, the bottom end will hold 7000 rpm shifts.

I use to shift out about 6100-6200 before the supercharger stock 5.3L and it ran the best there I backed it down to about 5800-5900 and slowed down a tenth in the 1/8th. These motors luv high rpm's.. Now with the Prochagrer stock 5.3L I'm still shifting at 6000 I don't want to go over that with blower cause she is screamin there.

i've got a 03 ecsb 4.8 and I've noticed that it wants to get out of first gear pretty quick, i used to have 1-2 at 5900 now I have it at 5700, and then 2-3 5900, thats the best combo i've found so far, I've never went beyond the 5900 though

I have my rev limiter set to 6200 on my 4.8, and WOT shifts at 5600. I got a Wait 4 Me tune, and Jesse thought those limits on my stock engine were conservative for this motor.
