My truck with the 212/218 low lift was pulling 95-97 mph regularly. I'm quite sure that a good converter, some 3.73's/4.10's and headers would have put me solidly in the 13's.

I was planning on staying with the poor underdog 4.8 until I ran across the smokin' deal that I got on the 5.7.

We can do it lol.

I should be picken up Scream's cam shortly. I had a pm sent to me asking if I wanted to buy a used 2800 Viglante for 400 shipped. How do you guys think this converter would do with this cam? (212/218 .522/.529 114 LSA) I would like to get a 3000 or 3200 stall, but this is converter is pretty cheap. I know 01Thunder has a 2800 Vig and 3.73's and seem pretty happy with it, but no cam if i recall. I'd probably go with 3.90's or 4.10's if i got this converter. What do ya guys think??? Thanks for any help.

I am not sure how it would run with a 2800 stall, besides alot better than stock. To get the best track results with that cam I would assume you would need some type of stall, and the 2800 is better than none at all, plus the 3.90's or 4.11's will get the thing moving too...also you might want to check into getting the trans-go shift kit. Once you get the cam and install it, tell us how it runs, I was thinking about the same cam for my 4.8L awhile back. Good luck.
