Default Cats bolted or welded to the y-pipe?

Are the stock cats bolted or welded onto the stock y-pipe?

They are welded into the Y-pipe. The Y-pipe is bolted up to the manifolds/headers and again bolted to the pipe that goes into the muffler.

You could unbolt the Y-pipe temporarily, but the o2's are behind the manifold bolts so you would loose them.
