Coolant wise? You did fine. Thats more than I did. I did it the hard way of course and didnt drain prior. Coolant everywhere. lol It even went down my exhaust pipe. I had to burn the moisture out once I got it started. Everything turned out fine.

So I got the new lifters and guides in, heads on, and hoping to get the rest finished up tomorrow. I wanted to clean the valve covers as I believe the pcv is built in (correct?) can I just blast the pcv passageway with some brake cleaner, blow it out with an air compressor and call it good?

There are two coolant drain plugs, one per side. Driver side is a big one, needs a 17mm allen head, and the passenger side is smaller and is hidden above the starter. You need to remove the starter to get to it.

Pulled the driver side one only, but the truck is on an angled driveway and the driver side is currently lower. I would imagine most of the coolant dripped over to that side. Just not sure why the coolant wont completely drain.

That PCV usually pulls out of the valve cover. But yes, I just blew it out with brake cleaner and also the chamber that it slide into.

If you have the time I'd drop them off at a machine shop to be cleaned. They're able to clean in there better than I can. I get them back with nice shiney aluminum. Guess it depends on how nasty there are to. I've had some bad ones.
