Cant seem to get crank pulley bolt loose...

Let's take a step back, just how on earth are you doing this? I hope you left the spark plugs IN the motor when trying to loosen the crank bolt. If not, put them back in. This will create compression and the motor will be more resistant to turning over. Next after that if that doesn't work, take a big *** flat blade screwdriver through one of the inspection cover holes in the transmission and wedge it between one of the teeth on the flexplate and have a helper hold it while you try again. It will come loose. If not you need a new impact gun or more air pressure.

Uhm well that would explain it dude. You're f'ed unless you can lock the crankshaft in place someway. Should have taken the pulley off first. Your only choice is to lock the flexplate up or get a rod through the blancer and have a friend hold it to lock it from turning over. Otherwise install your new heads and then take the pulley off.

I took my other 18" breaker bar, and locked it thourgh the balancer against the block...worked like a charm, but I had it done right after I posted the original post...lol

I actually used a big nylon strap wrench around my crank pulley, wedged against the ground or frame (can't remember), it worked like a charm.
Yea, I actually don't like that method, but it's common practice for alot of folks. Even through one of the holes in the flexplate I'd be concerned about the flexplate getting damaged, that crank bolt is effin tight
