I've got a custom Crower roller in my balanced shafted s-10, had to change over to SBC roller rockers because of the lift and double valve springs...
But in the end 150 shot of nitrous is what woke it up...

It looks as if fastgmc98 has a pretty stout package in his S-10 and may be a good person to talk to about a cam swap, as far as the results he got from the Crower cam he has. The cam package from Summit looks as if it may be a little rough around the edges, especially if you didn’t have a decent little converter being on a 110 with 224 degrees duration on both the intake and exhaust. It is also listed for non-computer controlled applications.

Comp does list two cams that are for computer controlled applications (actually three) that look fairly decent. One of them is advertised at being 210/215 .500/.500 112 with a 1800 to 5000rpm power band and the other is 215/220 .500/.500 114 with a 2000 to 5500rpm power band. Either of which will pull way higher than the factory stick wants to.

I'll rephrase that, ( to me ) its worthless cam'ing the 4.3 seeing some of the prices for them. The 4.3 does not have a big aftermarket ( specialy the balance shafters ) and it's a damn shame because they are some tough engines that make a decent amount of torque. Don't think I have had a vehical out of the 11 I have owned that survived 40k miles in a year and not break. I'de give the 210/215 .500/.500 112 a shot if you are dead set on caming it...that or throw in a v8 : )

And if you are going to throw headers into the mix, I would stay away from JBA shorties wont really offer much hp for their cost. You might be able to find some one to custom make a medium or long tube set for the same price but long tubes might be hard to get to fit seeing how the steering junk and frame rails offer very little room.

The owner of the local engine shop has a son that races rail dragsters. His main ride is powered by a blown 4.3, so there are some people that do some work on them somewhere.
