I knew that tightening the rockers wasnt going to do anything for the oil pressure but it made him feel better and atleast it got rid of the lifters ticking so damn loud. When I pulled the pump apart the relief piston was closed, the spring had some black goo on it which is to be expected of a 100K motor, hopefully putting the new pump in there will solve it. I think we are both getting tired of working on this damn thing, atleast we are working on it in a heated garage

Dont have one, if he still doesnt have oil pressure after the pump install then I may swap my oil pressure sending unit onto his truck just to check. The truck is already torn all the way down so we arent putting it back together just to check that just yet.

I'm betting its the sender. Knocked some stuff loose during the install and clogged it up.

Did you check the oil level? Don't take me wrong just ribbing. I know this is a PITA and I would be pissed.

we never drained it in the first place, until now when we drained it to get to the oil pump(what a bitch).
