You can pass with an LQ9 + a 220 with tuning. Without tuning it will be iffy. And no, there are no LT headers that are legal in CA.

P.S. You should put your location in your profile and your truck in your sig so people know what you have and can help you.

I think you will need shorties to get the CARB sticker. I installed the LTs and told pacesetter the carb sticker wasn't in the box when the headers arrived. They sent me out a new sticker.

When I bought my cam: TR220 114, I looked on thunder racing's site and it said to go with the 114 if you have strict emission laws. I do remember reading that with proper tuning, you should be able to pass with the 112, but I am not certain. You may want to do a search.

Try looking at Dougs headers . I bought mine from summit last year. They are more like a mid length but are very nice quaility and are 13 inches longer than the stock manifolds and they are CARB legal. When I was searching for headers last year I called everyone looking for a CARB approved header. All the headers I found were shorties which they are a waste of money so I gave the Dougs Headers a shot but like my sig says I STILL haven't installed them.

220 on a 112 should pass with no tuning simply for the fact that it has -4* overlap, which most people say seems to be the magic number for smog in CA. Plus that small of a cam in a LQ9 will only add to your success. I say you should go bigger, 224/224 114s pass with no tuning in LS1's, you have more cubes so you have room to go bigger or stay around that size and tighten up the LSA a bit.

Thats right my friend passed with a 224/224 114 with no problem on a 5.7 LS1.

As for exhaust, **** emissions! I'm building an exhaust for my 408 right now with long tubes, faux cats(resonators), o2 delete. When time comes to smog, bolt up your old exhaust. I just don't think you'll be happy with the money to SOTP ratio with shorties or even mid-lengths.

the Dougs midlengths are good for 20 horse or so, about the same as the pacesetters
