Cam Question for 6.0l swap
#1
I have a problem with the 5.3, its a rod knock
. So me and some buddys pulled the motor and now I'm going to do a 6.0l swap. I want to now what cam I should get. I want it to have a noticable lope but not a helly lope, I want Hp and Tq about equal but a little bit more Tq down low and the power range from 2,000-6.300rpm, I'll have a 2500 stall. I want to be able to tow a trailer up north with no problems (jet skis and snowmobles). My buddy TheLadiesman has a custom crided cam that he was going to use for his 6.0l swap, I can get that if I want its a 218/218 .563/.563 224lsa or I called comp cam and the said a 224/230, I don't now what lift or lsa is but the part number # is 54-444-11 which one should I get, or are there other one, that would work for me. Will the 218/218 be good. Please Help I need it Asap.

Yes, you'll be much better off with the 218/218 for towing over the 224/230. Low end grunt (under 2000 rpms) will suffer on the big cam. Idle and drivability will be better with the smaller cam too.
