Default Cam Question

I just got my Cartek M cam (which I bought from someone on this board) and was wondering if anyone knows anything about this cam? How much of a gain to expect, what change in idle? I see on the cam it has 3712R / 3715R HR 113 LS1 X6442 what does all this mean? I think it is a comp cam but Im not sure of the grind. Im sure all the writing tells me this but I am new to the custom grind cams. I know the cam is suppose to be a 218/222 with a .562 lift and 113 LSA. I was wondering if I can use my stock push rods or do I need to get new ones and if so what? Thanks for any info you can provide.

Thats a 218/224 .563 .568 113lsa. Probably has no advance, because most of comps cams will have a +2 or +4 also etched on them to show advance.

I didn't see a +2 or +4 but I will look again. So should I use the numbers you just gave me for tunning the cam?

Comp cams has the lobe gring numbers listed in their catalog. If you were going to order a custom cam, you tell them which lobes you wanted. In this case, its the lobes 3712R and 3715R. Those lobes are in the XE High Lift chart as 218 224.

Correct. The right way to order a custom grind LS1 Comp cam is:

********************
54-000-11
LS1 3712R/3715R HR114+4
********************

Where 3712R and 3715R are the desired lobes, 114 is the desired LSA, and +4 is the desired advance/retard.

Then yours does not have any advance ground in.
