Default Cam and Lifter question?

Quick question, I am building a mild 5.3 and I am using a TSP 220 cam. What lifters should I use? Are the stock one fine or should I replace them? Also what springs are you guys running on otherwise stock heads? Thanks in advance.

I have a 220 cam. I didn't change the lifters. I used a Patriot Gold double valve spring kit.

If the engine is apart and on the stand, I'd put some new lifters in for some relatively cheap insurance. SDPC sells a complete set of LS7 lifters for about $120 I believe, there's a link to their website to the right>>>> As for springs, I'd go with some PAC 1218's, also available from SDPC or Texas Speed I'd get new lifter trays too, they're about $7 or $8 a piece x 4.

If you're just doing a cam swap in the truck, use the lifters that you have until they give you a problem...you have to pull the heads to replace the lifters.

Motor is stripped down as it is, heads are in the machine shop atm. I thought they were alot more money than $120, for that price I may as well just bite the bullet and do it.

I like the PAC 1218's...same specs as the Comp 918's without the history of breakages

(Check Texas Speed and SDPC for the PAC springs >>>>
