Default Cam, heads, headers, intake, TB ??

Hey guys i know I can find this by reading thread after thread but here is a few quick noob q's....

Im running 24's first of all

My engine is completely stock with 55k its an 05 tahoe by the way 4wd

Its a 5.3 Is this an Lq9 block?

What are some heads that will make some power on this motor?

Lookiing for some input on cams... I will soon be changing to 3.73 or 4.11

I need some ideas on an intake and tb setup also

What will the lower end hold on these things...crank stroke? rod length?

I would like to build an engine (on a tight budget) that i could later supercharge safely

I will also be pulling a trailer (with my tubbed 72 vega 9sec!)

any input I would really appreciate guys... Thanks

Moving you to the GM Engine and Exhaust Performance section where you'll get more hits...

Your 5.3 is an LM7, LQ9 is a flat top piston 6.0...the 6.0 will drop right in and all of your accessories, sensors, harness, etc. will bolt right in.

There are a ton of threads with all of the info that your looking for, check the stickies at the top of this section, and search this section using keywords for the mods you desire.

You can get just about anything you need from our sponsors, there are links to the right>>>>

Thank you... Will the Lq9 with the higher comp flat tops, still take boost safely? Im wanting to end up around 550 hp on the 5.3 or 6.0 which ever is easier and safer as far as longevity

Id rather just ask and get answers other than reading thru thread after thread that using goes off subject... its really hard to gain the pin pointed questions and answers sometimes. Especially when you dont have alot of time to read thru everything after 16 hour shifts

I would say that a lq9 can take 550hp, just make sure the tune is good

I think I'm going to find an Lq9 block and just start building... crank rods and pistons
