Default 6.2L resonator

I read on GM trucks.net a few people removed the resonator off of the 6.2's and where very happy with the sound. Thinking of doing this, opinions please...

Are we talking about the third cat/resonator or whatever that thing they put after the y pipe in the 09+ trucks?

If it is I would gut that thing...they definitely sound better once its gone.

He is talking about the one in the tail pipe.
I have taken them off and they sound alittle better, there are no chambers in it so it doesn't likely cause much restriction.
The tail pipe is 3.5 inch tubing so you need to be prepared for that if you intend to put tubing in place of the resonator. Not many exhaust shops have material or tubing to deal with that.

The one in the tail pipe is what I'm talking about. Is that one just as good as a Magnaflow Resonator? I read the 6.2's drone pretty bad with any aftermarket muffler without a resonator. LT's with no cats are planned with either corsa, borla, magnaflow, or flowmaster muffler.

Mine has lt's with cats, a magnaflow muffler and magnaflow resonator and it's too loud.
noticeably louder than a 6.0 with the same set up
Mine doesn't drone, , it's just plain loud.
Anyway volume is a personal thing, I find mine loud for a daily driver. It doesn't drone.

Default 6.2 resonator

Hey BAGZ,
I was editing my reply to your post and hit a wrong button and the whole thread got zapped.

Anyway, if you go with lt's no cats and a catback, it will be plain loud.
Mine has lt's with cats, magnaflow muffler and magnaflow resonator and it's loud.
doesn't drone, just loud,
Sound is a personal thing, you may like it
If I have time I will do a sound clip today.
