can anybody who has installed a converter in a 4wd truck chime in on how they did it, im debating whether or not to get a converter because i dont want to go at this uneducated and end up ruining my transmission/tcase
I have done it both ways... removing the trans and t-case together and doing it separately. Splitting the t-case and trans was much easier. The way the t-case hangs on the side of the trans makes it difficult to get out. I also removed the torsion bar cross member for extra space which helped. With 2 people it is a one full day job.

I take off the tcase from the trans first. There is enough room to get it out without taking out the tbar crossmember if you lift it slightly upward and pull straight back.

This is what I've done before. Just be careful and don't drop the trans case out of there on top of you. The thing is plenty heavy. I've had mine out and back in 3 or 4 time now with no bodily injury other than being a little sore in the morning.

once i install the cam, do i need to adjust the rockers like i would in a gen 1 sbc? i read the cam install thread but it was for an f-body and didnt make any mention of turning the engine over to adjust the rockers and pushrods to the correct "tightness". do I need to tighten the rockers to proper torque specs?
