Got them on before I headed to the track. They were just touching the spring when I left. I ran and I got some pretty good spin. I adjusting them all the way back, so there was lot was lots of slack on the bars. Same thing .... took them off and hooked a little better.
WTF ?
How do you use these things?

From what I'm reading you got better traction(less wheel spin) while the caltracs were disengaged?
You will unfortuantly until you throw some dr's on there. When the caltracs are preloaded, the top bolt is pressing down on the spring you have eliminated all the flex in the leaf spring. All that force when you launch has to go somewhere and since there nolonger is any wheel or suspension hop, breaking loose the tires is a good place to start.
What I like to do is when my truck is parked
The top bolt that lays across the leaf spring and should be touching the top of leaf just alittle bit. They suggest to release a half of turn of pressure but I I have found it's better to leave it preloaded.

never used traction bars at the track, but I was going to suggest similar...
you want the bump stop to be not touching the leaf, but less than 1" away, so the leaf springs can flex a little bit, but not as much as before...

I have the same problem unless I am on sticky tires. You have to remember that now your axle is not wraping around, so you are getting MORE power to the ground i.e. more spin. once you get sticky tires you will REALLY feel the launch on that truck! It is alot better for your drive train now too since the rear end is not wanting to wrap it self up in a ball every time you launch!

blown is basically trying to say, instead of your axel/suspension absorbing some of your power, now with the caltracs .. your wheels are getting more of the power transfer, rather than your suspension.
if ur on slicks, maybe the track prep sucked?
