It does seem like you would have a little more. Must have been all your good tuning.

I was riding around with them on last night. I noticed with the bars at the 'zero point', where the piece is just touching the spring, the truck doesn't squat when you accelerate. It just goes. The rear of the truck feels like it will rise up more than anything.

Is this the way these things are suppose to feel? I noticed it feels like my shifts aren't near as stiff. I think that's because when it was shifting, it would get a little wrap in the axle springs to let the tranny go ahead and shift. These things aren't letting it wrap at all.

I have my Caltracs since 00 and the main reason I got htem was my Truck had terrible wheel hop with the stock springs. The hotchkis springs alone didn't nearly hop as bad But I ordered the caltracs at the same time. As far as Et,60 foot time the Caltracs didn't show gains just-consistency. I don't have as much power as yours so sqauting wasn't an issue. The whole process of sqauting is cool but sometimes can become wasted energy.

Your springs no longer have any give when the caltracs are armed, Making the axle planted and the force of the power right to the ground. I think as far as shifting is concerned your being real critical, which you should be but these Caltrac bars were meant for elimination of wheel hop and suspension stablization, which if you didn't have problems before they won't make much of a differance.

I think with the bars armed it takes alot of the movement out of the back causing a firmer ride, accelerating, shifting etc...

I like them armed all the time but if you want to feel more of the shifting than release them and drive around with the bolt stop about 2" away from the top of the leaf spring. I usually carry around a shortened 1&1/8 and 1&1/4 open end wrench so I can turn them off.

Hmmm ... good info. I will say I have a tendancy to notice minor changes in things, very observant, especially when it comes to the truck.

I think I am going to play with them some and see what works best for me on the street, then I will take what I've learned from that and take it to the track and see what happens.

Opps, should have said once you get those tires stick, you will notice a change.

I tool some "tuning" to get my truck to get into the 1.8 60's.......the last time to the track, when it broke it left REALLY hard on the C07 compound slicks.

What we had to do with Curt's was actually preload the suspension. I got on the bumper while he adjusted them. You definately wouldn't want to run around on the street with them like that. You ride would be just a bit harsh.
