Default Building Stroker from a stock 6.0

What should I bore it over (safely)?
Any recommendation on parts (I want all forged)

.040" safely and .060" with some sonic testing. Eagle is the least expensive of the stroker kits. Lunati and Callies are the most expensive. All are forged kits.

Check your PM's.

Add an extra $700 -$1k for a Lunati or Callies rotating assy. Mine is getting bored out .030, 4" stroke, 408ci.

Default I am Thinking Lunati, but...

has anyone heard of Scat Cranks...are they any good?

What is the difference between the inexpensive Eagle & the more expensive Lunati?? ....really, is it just the name??

Eagle's crank is new to the market. Scat, lunati, and callies have had cranks out for a couple of years. Eagle is made in China and have had some manufacturing / design issues when they first arrived a few months back. So Eagle istaking the low $$$ approach but are unproven as of yet. At some point, the others will need to lower their costs too.

Can the aluminum LS1 be bored further than the 6.0? Aren't they going to 383's on all bore (6.3 liters)?

Thumbs up

Scat has some fairly inexpensive Forged LS1 cranks now (1100.00-1350.00) instead of their billet stuff now although you might have to wait a few weeks. The Eagle stuff wouldn't balance initially but besides that they make good stuff and this is fixed now anyway. We've built some crazy NOS stuff with Eagle cranks (8.90s at 155 SBC 4.000 crank) and had no problems at all. Lunati is extremely nice as is Callies but I've never even had a stock crank fail yet and that's knowing guys that do 300 shots again! We are just starting out and do have some great deals on the 6.0 stroker stuff. I am doing a few right now for some older guys with kit cars here in Houston.
