Broke the crank bolt , now what?

Default Broke the crank bolt , now what?

I was pushing the balancer in place and the old bolt crack inside with the pulley 1/4 inch to be in all the way . What can I do now?

Drill it out and then get it tapped but this is exactly why the following link exists.

I'd suggest buying one of those tools after you get the current problem fixed. Using the bolt to push the balancer on is risky.

Ok, I tried to get the bolt out but theres no way is coming out, so I tap the nose of the crank about 2 1/2" using a 3/4-10 tap and got a greade 8 bolt, I was able to sit the pulley in place with this new bolt, now I'm planning on a crank pinning kit an a **** load of locktite, now has enyone done this bofore? Will it work? Please give my your opinion on it.
