boring exhaust question
#1
ok, i have the typical flowmaster catback system. one muffler, two pipes coming out. i was just curious to what kinda of gain i would see by changing the muffler over to something else that flows better. or would you say a dual set up would be better. also, would the cost of such, even warrant the change.

I got a true dual borla exhaust w/ a x-pipe.. and I lost low-end power from it, but I gained from about 3k rpms and up.. so it all really depends and what you want..
The less backpressure the less torque..
but 4.10 gears is a good remedy!

i'll get gears eventually. looking for that almighty cheap set (along with eaton or auburn) to buy. lol. aren't we all tho. i guess i am looking for the exhaust system that offers the best overall performance. with all the hate on flowmaster, i think it would be safe to say, they aren't it.

I have the same question right now as well... After having the flowmaster on for over 2 years, its time for something different with a better sound. I was thinking Magnaflow Ultraflow, but I am open to any options. I just want to change my muffler out, no X-pipe or anything.

see, that is where i think i differ, i like the sound of my system. to me, it sounds diff than any other flowmaster out there. maybe it's just me, but i would like more performance if there is any to be gained. i need to get my sound on the web to see what you guys think.
