Default bolt on 5.3 Tahoe times?

I dont see many (well, any) bolt on Tahoes here. Seems like most of them have a PD blower or turbo. I may end up going this route with my new Tahoe beater at some point, but not right away. I am going to drop in another 5.3 soon and was planning on going with a cam, ~3600 stall and LT headers. I would imagine this would yield me with about ~350whp. Does anyone have any track times for a 4wd Tahoe with these mods? This is what I am going to use to pull my Explorer to the track, but it would be fun to hit the track with the tow vehicle too. Any thoughts?

go run it and get a baseline, I think stock Tahoes run in the 17's normally... I might be wrong though.

Skip the cam, go straight to a blower, wayyyyyy more fun, and you still get the same mpg. But I still haven't run mine at the track, so I don't have any numbers to help you. My tahoe without the blower put down 256/276 at the rear, (mods below, minus blower).

I have finally started modding my Tahoe a little. So far just a used S&B CAI, free mods and a little wake up tune. With the 33" tires and 3.73 gears, it is gutless down low and hates towing the truck up hills. I have a large case magnaflow in the garage I plan to put on this weekend and just ordered a new set of headers for the truck so the Pacetters will eventually find their way to the Hoe once they are recoated. I am debating either building a 382 out of the LS1 in my garage or finding a used MP112 to throw on it.

Why drop in another 5.3 instead of doing a 6.0?

Mainly budget reasons, and both ultimately have roughly the same power potential with forced induction. I can get a low mile complete 5.3 for $8-900, while a 6.0 will be more than double that.

I have 33" tires too, and I assume 3.73s. My Explorer weighs somewhere around 4500lbs, and I am not sure about the car hauler. How will longtubes affect low end torque?

Just for kicks, I ran my 'hoe once with my stock 5.3 years ago after I first bought it, and iirc, it ran 16.5 @ 83 mph. Couple months later with a cai, exhaust, e-fan swap, I gained almost 3 tenths. I havent been back since I boosted it nor with the current setup. I figure a 5.3 with full bolt-ons and a cam (don't leave out pcm tuning), you should be well into 15's.

I wouldn't tow with a 3600 stall.... But I'd say with boltvons and smallish cam u could see 15.0.... With a 2500 verter

My truck weighs 4440# and the trailer is around 1500# so a total of ~6000# load. Way back when on the truck, it gained some midrange torque with longtubes on a bolton 5.3. Once I get my new Kooks on the truck, I'll send the Pacesetters off to JetHot for a re-coating. When they get back, they are going on the Hoe and I'll let you know how they do.
