A bigger cam?

maybe try installing a cutout before your muffler, that will greatly improve the sound of the cam when you open it up before going through the process of changing the cam out again. just a thought

installed far enough toward the muffler it shouldnt really affect your AFR at all. if you installed two right off your collectors thatd be a different story, haha. honestly itll help you get that choppy sound you want without spending the money on a new cam and install and these trucks really sound great with a cam and open cutout.

My cam is bigger than yours, even with open exhaust it's tame as ****. I was severely disappointed. I wouldn't mind switching to a 230s cam, but this thing already struggles to turn the 80e over down low.

I couldn't be happier with the power and broad powerband of this cam. It's stupid strong everywhere, with an emphasis down low. I can't imagine any other cam running better. As fickle as it sounds, all I'm after is that nasty lope. No way would I give up the power I've got for more lope, just trying to figure out how to maximize both sound and performance. A cutout might just be the ticket. I have a hunch I'd love turn downs right after the muffler, but I tried that before and it was too loud for interstate trips. A cutout would allow me to turn it on and off when ever I want. It should be easy to install too, since I've got a single 3" in muffler. The only complication I see is the cross member. I'll just have to get under there and have a look.
