By loose, I mean, how much throttle you have to give it to get it going. It rev's easier/faster but does turn more rpm's (until lockup)

If a converter is "tight", it takes less throttle to get it moving.

Some people don't like loose converters. I loved my Circle D.

When you say lock up what do you mean? I've watched a few videos but still haven't got the jist of everything. I get the basic function

It'll shift 3 times, then it'll feel like it shifts again and rpms drop, this is lockup.
