Best CAI to use with Radix?
#11
That's strange.
I ran mine with a duct too. There was an actual sealed ram-air setup that worked good on the highway, but around town it was a complete dog. It sucked down A LOT more gas than normal. (from 17's to 12's). I'm pretty sure it was turbulence problems with the MAF.
Then there was just the duct setup to pull air from behind the bumper, out of the airstream. The stock inlets were sealed up. That was okay, but very soft off idle.
I like the open element kits as long as there is a good sealing shield in place. I'm looking to get one, and completely box it in. As it is now with my stock box, when my e-fans turn on, the hot air creeps down in front of the fender-liner and rises up into the airbox inlet area in the fender - my IAT's walk up into the lower hundreds in about a minute and a half.
