Do you think 4 gauge wire would be enough to run it up to the little hot box under the hood from the bed? I was wanting to put it right up next to the cab on the driver's side.

What ya'll think? I'm trying to help my launch out and clean up the engine bay a little more. The extra space would be nice for the RADIX intercooler.

 

I think if you gonna put it in the bed atleast put it on the passenger side.

We already have so much on the drivers side, gas tank etc...

 

I have been thinking about that myself when I get my Yellow Top. Be sure and post pics when you do.

 

The exhaust is on the passenger side though. I know that doesn't equal near the weight of the tank when full or even half, but heat would be more of a concern.

Anyone think that the 4awg wire would be to small?

 

4 awg sounds to small to me..i would do a 0 gauge or maybe double 0 gauge (mainly because of the distance traveled), and not to mention how demanding the ignition system, starter, and ecm are

 

I thought the whole reason there was the infamous Chevy lean was because heavy parts like the gas tank were on the drivers side...

 

I also thought that the reason racers put their battery on the passenger side is to help put more weight over the passenger rear tire, which is the one that tends to unload when launching?

 

I think I would invest in a good battery box and locate the battery on the passenger side of the bed,so you can run your cables the shortest distance back to stock battery location to maintain a good ground for your under hood components.[I was meaning to say locate it on the driver's side I guess I was still asleep when I posted this morning.]

 

Stock battery location is on the driver's side. Stock connections are on the drivers side too.

 

Don't forget that to be NHRA legal, you'll need a kill switch mounted on the rear of the vehicle!
