Default Beating the CAI Horse Again...

Ok guys here's my question. I have a chance at a smoking deal on a barely used K&N FIPK for my Silvy. I also had my eye on the Outlaw intake. Has there been any dyno pulls done with the Outlaw to show what kind of gains it gives? What's everyone here's preference? I've known quite a few people who've run K&N intakes and haven't heard anything bad about them. If I were to go Outlaw it would be my first experience.

I should've put another option in the poll... Just buy one, and intake is an intake is an intake. For example I know on the LS1 F-cars most people just say "Pick the lid yhou like the best, they're all about the same."

Thanks in advance for any input. I apologize as I know I'm beating the bejesus out of a dead horse yet again.

BTW, the FIPK is P/N: 57-3021-1

This should work on my truck right? It should install OK, I'm just wondering if it will seal correctly due to my truck having the HD style hood.

i vote for Outlaw, although you're better off making your own. Cheaper and better gains!

Outlaw IMO... my SS was the test truck for the R&D on the kit. The owners are good guys and they know their ****. Like you said all intakes are about the same, but IMO a sealed box like the outlaw is going to be slightly better just due to lower air temps.

I hear you all on the sealed box. I had an intake called WizAired on my supercharged 3.8 Impala SS.

Even in stop/go traffic in summer my IATs were typically within 10-15 degrees of the ambient air temp. That was usually the worst case. On a hot, HOT highway in the New Mexico/Texas summer heat my IAT would usually match what the car's thermometer said.

Does anyone have a link for Outlaw's website?

i know they did a comparison between the several boxes in the april '06 chevy hi po and on the supercharged silverado ss they got the airaid airbox and the outlaw to have the same gains... they did cut the bottom wall out of the outlaw though... but then again thats what CHP says... so who knows the truth....
