basic bolt ons for 5.3l truck? best bang for buck?

Default basic bolt ons for 5.3l truck? best bang for buck?

im to lazy to search, but what are the best lil bolt on for a 0204 5.3l 1500 4x4 truck?

ls1 fans?
pulley?
ported tb?
intake?
shift kit??

outta the above, whats the hp pickup and are they worth the cash?

thanks ill search for some of these later tonight but i gotta get offline for a few now.. if you can provide any info then thanks a bunch

Since a custom tune was not listed, ls1 fans would be my #1 choice from the list.

how much of a gain are the fans netting on the 5.3's?

i would say fans cause they can be had for cheap. throttle response is gonna be a lot better.

you can build your own intake for around 60 bucks.

ive been reading on the fans though.. dont you have to reprogram the PCM for them to cut off and on?

The pulley and fans together will make a nice noticeable difference. Do like goshawk23 said and build your own intake outta PVC pipe and a K&N filter, works pretty good and doesn't cost $200+.

You can get a aftermarket fan controller to control the fans or if you have someone who can cut them on in the stock computer you can go that route with a few relays.

i am using a vsc to turn my fans on and off. some people had issues with the vsc melting and such. so far, 2 years and nothing has gone wrong with mine.

I had my VSC for about the same amount of time and never had any trouble with it either. I just changed over to the computer controlled setup because I was skurrrrrred the VSC was going to melt one day.
