Is it bad to race in Tow/Haul mode?

Yeah... I tested mine earlier today too. I tried it a few times and shifts came in normal at 5650, and w/ tow haul around 5200. These numbers will be goin up soon... hypertech is my next mod. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

My point is that the Tow/Haul shift points are set so that when you are under a load, no matter how you drive your tranny is running with a safety factor. Under normal acc, the shifts are drug out as not to loose torque when downshifting. At WOT, the shifts are set at a max shift point so it won't carry the load out past the powerband. So I guess the answer to the original question is, it won't hurt but may show a higher ET.

Hey Greg, yours shifts quite a bit higher than mine with Tow-Haul ON at WOT. What if you raised your shift points even higher with your HPPIII and did a WOT in Tow-Haul only? Could be worth a try. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

I'm pretty much set at the highest I can go on the 1-2. I only have it advanced 3 to 5 mph (I think). I know once I ran it up to 8 mph and bonced off the rev limiter set at 6200.
