Is it bad to race in Tow/Haul mode?

Is it bad to race in Tow/Haul mode? All I can feel is that it increaes line pressure for firmer shifts and holds third gear longer. If you ask me this seems ideal for drag racing. But I just want to make sure nothing bad will happen. Will anything bad happen? Is this a good idea to have on for racing?

I'm pretty sure on mine, when your're in tow- haul mode at wide open throttle it shifts at 5000 RPM from 1st. to 2nd. You can feel it stumble as it goes into 2nd. In D it will shift at 5600. It would be nice to find a way around this. I think we need more comments on this subject.

As far as my experiance goes, tow/haul doesn't work at WOT. It extends the shift points out under normal driving and under a load. I think Brandon has it right.

Here is the results on my tests this morning on the way home and today on the way to work.
Normal Accelaration
Tow/Haul OFF
1- 2 @ 1800
2- 3 @ 2000
3-od @ 2000
ON
1- 2 @ 2400
2- 3 @ 2800
3-od @ 2400
WOT
T/H OFF
1- 2 @ 6000
ON
1- 2 @ 5600
These tw were very consistant, I did it 4 times each.
Now I have my shift points adjusted with my HPPIII. but as I have heard before, when T/H in on, the HPPIII point are not used.

Hmm... maybe its my truck then? But with no hyp3 programming and tow haul on, the truck seems to shift firmer into 1,2,and 3 gears. Fast 4.8 you are right about 3rd into od. it shifts sooner. Hey, thanks for doing the research also Fast 4.8!!!
