Make sure all your rockers on tight. I had poor performance after cam and went months not knowing what it was. Finally when I was going to smaller cam the mechanic noticed he had left a rocker loose. Made a huge difference and I kept the cam.

my last heads had a couple bad threads in them, and did the same thing.
backfiring, sputtering, and such.
It was leaking compression around the plugs.

RIght now Im sputtering once in a while...but I just put my heads/cam in and dont have it tuned yet...
I will check and make sure in the next couple days. Probably going to be really busy.

I still haven't checked the compression. Do you know what they are supposed to be at? And the proper way to do it. And no, I did not degree it.

What would be the best way to find this out? Just put my stock one back in there? And it is a used custom grind. The guy came and put just a basic tune in it and it seems like it has more power but still nowhere near enough. Not even close to stock. Its not doing the bogging down at 1/4 throttle anymore either. I think I'm going to put the stock one back in and see what happens.

I just pulled everything out and my harmonic balancer bolt had a lot of metal on it. I'm not sure if it was off the bolt or the crank. I am about to go down to the dealership and get another bolt. I will keep everyone updated.

you can always cam doctor the cam as well, but being a custom grind, and used, I would think you should degree it.

Is there any timing advance ground into the grind?

Mind sharing the specs?
