Backfiring after cam install!!!!!please help!!!!

Wasn't the timing. The plugs were really black, maybe fouled out. Not really sure that would cause all this. I also checked all the wires and connectors, none loose. I will check again when I get back home. Wife in being induced into labor tonight. I am really excited. I'll do some more research.

my last heads had a couple bad threads in them, and did the same thing.
backfiring, sputtering, and such.
It was leaking compression around the plugs.
RIght now Im sputtering once in a while...but I just put my heads/cam in and dont have it tuned yet...

i think just from working on the truck with u and the fact that chris likes 2 rig things up and he did do the swap from the v6 to the v8. but kept the v6 harness and just cut n 2 it an made it work i feel u got a wiring problem.

What did you cranking compression end up being? I still am not convinced the cam is installed right
If you do have it lined up, we need to know the cranking compression. Your cam could be ground wrong too. Did you degree it when you installed it?
