Default ataped tonight and found my fair share of KR and TM

here is the file, i cleaned it up and put it in excel... tell me what you guys think

http://constant.com/~dino/filez/I_Got_Bored.xls

i had more than 3 degrees KR everytime i was at WOT and nearly every WOT 1-2 shift gave -7 degrees timing (TM), felt really funny, im not sure if it ever did that with hypertech on.

considering im running without my maft right now the ltrims and o2s looked pretty good though. even more the reason as to wonder where all the KR comes from

also, does the shift time seem normal?

my tranny was feeling REALLY funny tonight, also had a really hard 2-1 downshift, felt like it used to when i was spraying when it shifted at WOT, never felt like that before.

thanks in advance
bryan

*EDIT* OOPS, im hoping that link works.... lol

Hey cool stuff. Wow you know you got the bug when you can just stare at numbers and be interested The only question I have is why is one bank of (O2's)considerably richer than the other most of the time. In the case of nitrous lets say, it would be okay to spray on 10.2, but the other bank was only registering a 7.3. Um..I guess its okay to spray even though one bank is lean? Anyway good info.

lol, yeah its sad, i got bored and took my truck for a spin real quick and then put it in excel.

as for the question about one bank being leaner than the other, this is the case in the ltrims and the o2s for nearly every person i have seen. i have heard a few differnet things, one is that it could be a variation in the fuel rails on either side, another is just variations in the sensors. one thing i have noticed though, it almost always tends to register a tad bit richer on bank 1 than bank 2. this would still pose no threat for nitrous, as its normal on all the ls1 the 5.7L ls1s as well and they spray PLENTY of juice

still kinda wondering about what the knock retard could be from, i think i will just put in some 93 gas and poor in that bottle of "NOS OCTANE BOOSTER" that i have laying around so i can get it up to 93.00001 octane lol, see if any of this goes away since i usually use 87 or 89 or whatever.

as long as my tranny isnt taking alot longer to shift than others im not really worried about that, torque management wont be a problem much longer for me

i made another tune with it today, put on the hypertech to raise the shift points, but didnt use the power tuning. still knock retard but not as much as there was, im positive the torque management was still just as bad it just wasnt seeing it with autotaps TURBO logging haha. everytime it registered TM this time i was at 0% throttle, is that just normal sometimes i take it?

heres the file for this run

http://www.geocities.com/worm271/Hyp..._powertune.xls

for it to work you have to copy/paste it the address box

You AutoTap rookie! hahaha

First of all, get rid of any useless crap you are monitoring, you will get better data sampling rates the fewer items you are monitoring. This has to do with AutoTap software data aquisition speeds. You only want to monitor important info, and as few items as possible to get more data results.

You also only need 100% throttle info, the rest is somewhat useless.

Engine Speed
Throttle Position (%)
B1S1 O2 sensor
B2S1 O2 sensor
Ignition Timing
Knock Retard
L Trims B1
L Trims B2

Those are what you should monitor for the bare minimum to see how things are running.

Here are your numbers:

LTerm Fuel Trim B1 - avg 2.36
LTerm Fuel Trim B2 - avg 3.04
Ignition Timing Adv - avg 24.22
O2 Sensor - B1S1 - avg 0.869
O2 Sensor - B2S1 - avg 0.870
Knock Retard - avg 0.563

LTrims look okay. Close as possible to 0 is the best. single digits are fine however.
Timing is somewhat low, shoot for 28-30 degrees
O2 sensors indicate a slightly lean condition. Shoot for between 0.890-0.900 for best performance
Knock Retard isn't bad, anything less than 1 deg is fine

You might consider a MAF-Translator to raise the timing without leaning the motor out any more. They also work to move the Ltrims around.

Tony

me thinks you were looking at my avg wot shift time

it was 4.47 avg KR on the first run and 4.46 on the second run, could be worse but still not great.

yeah lol, its funny i took off alot of crap to log that, i finally realized that it logs incredibly slow and that autotap transfers probably slower than a floppy drive lol.

i had an maft, i loved it and it worked great, im not sure if they sold the maft plus for our truck though that raises the timing too, i dunno bout that but i was too cheap to buy it haha. i sold it and am selling the hypertech now thogh.

i am in on an order for ls1 edit though, we should be placing our order very soon (next couple days i think). so as i get used to it i will richen it up a little to get closer to 0 ltrims and .89-.90 o2s. also raise the timing a few degrees (hopefully that one isnt too hard lol) and do all the other fun junk

I'm pretty sure I got your KR column right. I deleted the shift-time column completely. You only need to pay attention to 100% WOT KR, not partial throttle KR. Not sure how you averaged KR.

oops, i had it averaging all of the knock retard that was over 3 degrees. i was basing that info off a template i got somewhere else, i think the vetteforums or something.

but i set it to average all knock retard when the tps was greater than 99.5. this way still gave me 3.125 though. i checked it too

i used this to average it:
=(SUMIF(H:H, ">99.5",M:M))/T6

where H is tps, M is knock retard, and T6 is the number of lines of TPS over 99.5%

did you delete any other colums before knock retard that would have made M store a different variable? im pretty sure i have mine right but maybe not
